5 Easy Makeup Ideas

Hey Ladies! I wanted to gather these 5 Easy Makeup Ideas and post here for you. They are ideas to create a full look or can be used individually.

Preparing Your Skin
Prepare your skin for foundation and makeup by gently cleansing your face. You want to wash away all traces of mascara and left over eye makeup. Then scrub (exfoliate) to get rid of dead skin cells so your foundation goes on evenly. Use a gel or oil-free moisturizer to plump up and hydrate your skin cells, so that the foundation does not ‘drag’ when you apply it. I recommend applying a sunscreen that is matte or oil-free and has a SPF of 15-30. The sunscreen will act as a primer helping your foundation glide on during the application process. If you are told to use a primer, make sure it does not have a lot of silicon in it. The silicon is used to ensure that the foundation is applied smoothly; however, silicon moves around on the face and your foundation and/or eye makeup will not last.

Foundation
Make sure the foundation you are using matches your skin. Blend in the your foundation at your jaw line and neck, so there are no lines or creases. Pay attention to areas where your foundation may be visible and blend it in well, especially around the hairline, jaw line, nose, lips, and eyes. Then conceal with one of the following options: another layer of foundation (once your foundation dries you can apply another layer; usually this is needed under the eyes, nose, cheeks and chin), a concealer, or a concealer powder. When you set your foundation with a loose powder, use a powder color that matches your foundation or a transparent powder (if it is transparent, it will become the color of your foundation). No sense in trying to match your foundation to your skin then inadvertently changing the color with the wrong shade of powder.

Eyebrows
Your eyebrows frame your face, which is why it is critical that you make sure they are the right shape for your face. It is also important to keep them neatly groomed with regular maintenance. Fill in your eyebrows with eye shadow base and an eye shadow. You can also use an eyebrow pencil (try to find one that is water resistant for more staying power). Use a color that is one to two shades lighter than your actual brow hairs. After you fill in your eyebrows, set your brows with a loose powder or a powder compact.

Mascara
Always curl your lashes before applying mascara. If you curl your lashes after you apply your mascara, your lashes may stick to the lash curler or become clumpy. Always wear your favorite tried and true waterproof mascara. Apply one coat, let it dry, then apply a second coat. Brush up and down making sure you apply the mascara to the top of the eyelashes and the bottom.

Customize Your False Eyelashes
There are a lot of choices out there for false eyelashes. Decide your look based on the event and then you can customize your false eyelashes by: cutting strips to the desired length to fit your eye properly. You can also use individual eyelashes in small, medium, or long. Place individual false lashes of varying sizes and amounts to your eyelashes to create your desired look. Then apply mascara, allow time to dry, then a second coat.
