What differentiates the Classic Smokey Eye from other smokey eye looks is the use of grays in your eyeshadow palette.

Chisel double shader – for lid
Precision squirrel contour brush and a crease brush – for contour
Camouflage angled detail brush – to fill in the brows
Eyeshadows
Medium gray – for lid
Light neutral color – for brow bone
Deep smokey gray(s) – for contour
A medium brown – to fill in your brows
Black eyeliner – gel or pencil
Black mascara – waterproof
Loose powder – to set the eye makeup
or
A duel foundation power compact and a foundation brush – to set the eye makeup
Application
Use the chisel double shader brush to apply the medium gray to the lid. Then apply the neutral color to the brow bone. Next apply the eyeliner beginning at the inner corner of the eye and working your way out to the edge of the eye. Thicken the eyeliner at the outer edge for a more dramatic effect.
Now apply the darkest color to the contour area using your contour brush (also can be called the precision contour brush, can also use a crease brush). Rolling the brush into the contour area, blending the color out and up. Use 1 or 2 of your dark eyeshadows here and blend them in this area. I apply the color right over the eyeliner to add to the smokey look. If you want a more crisp and sharp black then don’t apply the dark eyeshadow over the eyeliner.
Now take more of your medium color and go back over the lid blending it in. Just to make sure this color didn’t get lost when you applied your dark eyeshadow. Then fill in the brows with your brown color and camouflage angel detail brush.
Apply your mascara beginning on the bottom. Sometimes we forget to start on the bottom and start on the top, then when you go to the bottom and look up you get mascara all over your perfect eyeshadow! So always start on the bottom and finish on the top lashes.
Almost done – clean up any stray eyeshadow etc. with a q-tip. Set the look with a little loose powder and you’re done!
