Mascara Shortcut

I love love love the way my eyes look in mascara. Black and dramatic, it really finishes off my eyeshadow look. However there are a plethora of reasons I don’t wear it on the daily: I’m too rushed in the morning, I get lazy about removing it at night, and the biggest reason is because I found a nice little shortcut: I get my eyelashes tinted.

Easy As…Eyelash Tint & Eyelash Curler

The cost will vary depending on where you go, but I get mine done from Caelie for $25. I go about 6 weeks in between lash tints. She uses black and it goes on the lashes for about 5 minutes. I found that if I try to talk to her while it’s on, then my subtle facial movements make the tint get into my eyes and there’s a mild stinging. So I try not to talk and I stay really still.

My eyelashes look great when it’s done and then all I do each day is curl them with my eyelash curler and it looks like I’m wearing mascara. I do still wear mascara on occasion for the extra drama it provides, but it’s usually on a day when I know I will commit to removing it that night before I go to bed. I find the lash tint to be a nice way to keep my makeup routine simple.

• Eyelash tinting lasts anywhere from 6-8 weeks
• The tint dyes the eyelashes and then starts to fade once your lashes begin to fall out and new ones grow in. Because the new lashes that grow in are fair in color it makes the tint appear to fade.
• We have 3 different cycles of hair growth and they are 3-12 weeks apart. So basically every 12 weeks you have brand new eyelashes!
